With heavy hearts, we announce that on February 7, 2021, Stephen Ray Cravey’s journey with us here on earth has come to an end. He has gone to be with our Lord and Savior in Heaven. The Funeral service was scheduled for 3pm Friday, February 12, in Burnet, Texas, at Cements-Wilcox Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park.

Steve was born in Brady, Texas, on December 16th, 1947. He worked as a project manager, with Worley Parsons being his last employer before retirement. He traveled all around the world and had many stories of the places he had been.

During his travels, he made many friends from all over the world. He preferred to stay in Texas and never too far away from his home. Steve retired and lived nearly 8 years on his land in Lampasas. He enjoyed tending to the animals and the land.

Steve enjoyed visiting with friends and drinking coffee at Hilltop Gun Shop in Lampasas. He loved watching movies and eating DEB brand cowboy cookies in the evenings. He loved his family to come out for BBQ and spend time talking, laughing, and being together around the campfire. Steve was very loved and will be deeply missed. His first-born great-grandson shares the same middle name “Ray.”

Steve is preceded in death by his mother, Edith Rose DeSpain Cravey, father, Jesse Elmer Cravey.

He is survived by his siblings Mike Cravey and his wife Sandra Cravey, Gary Cravey and his wife Beverly Cravey, and Donna Palmer and her husband Ralph Palmer; children Jarrett Cravey and his wife Deborah Cravey, Vickie McElroy and her husband Mike McElroy, and Travis Cravey and his wife Joanna Martinez; grandchildren Nina Campos and husband Raul Campos, Jarrett Cravey II (Rett) and his wife Nelly Cravey, Kyrsti Weatherby and her husband Scott Weatherby, Toni Cravey, Heather Cravey, Danny McElroy and his wife Lauren McElroy, Beca McElroy, Samuel Cravey, Avery Cravey, Ellery Cravey, Jack Cravey; great grandchildren Mateo Campos, Adela Campos, Jarrett Cravey III (Jett), Jesse Cravey, Michael McElroy, and one on the way.
