Just as residents began picking up the pieces from a storm May 1, torrential rain swept through Burnet County May 5 and 6, dumping several inches onto the area. Despite the recent thunderstorm, the bulk of reported damage came from the early weather event, officials described. 05/07/2025 03:47 AM

Bulldog runner fulfills goals, leaves a legacy
From the beginning of this year, Burnet High School senior middle-distance runner Victor Aviles’ goals were to win three Class 4A State Championships this spring.
