Youngsters display hard work at 2025 stock show
The 58th Burnet County Livestock Show, held Jan. 2-4 at the Burnet County Fairgrounds, showcased the remarkable efforts and dedication of local youth. Organized by the Burnet County FFA and 4-H Livestock Show Association, this annual event provides a platform for young exhibitors to present their livestock and agricultural mechanics projects, culminating in a premium auction that directly supports their future endeavors.

Bulldogs basketball earns district win over Jarrell
The boys’ basketball program competed in three district games during the Christmas break playing Marble Falls, Jarrell and Gateway most recently last Friday. As of presstime Burnet’s varsity was 1-3 having dropped games to Marble Falls, 4131; and Gateway, 51-37. Their district win came last Tuesday over Jarrell, 42-36. They continued 24-4A play versus Salado yesterday and will travel to Taylor on Friday.
