Dawgs earn flashy comeback win in Salado
The Bulldog basketball team’s games were delayed a bit due to weather last week with Tuesday’s sub-varsity games being cancelled and the varsity’s game versus Gateway being moved to Wednesday. Icy road conditions were to blame for the week’s delayed start. 01/29/2025 03:46 AM

Ellen Halbert Drive has a story behind the name. It winds its way around the Airport and Burnet Rodeo grounds, cuts through cedar patches and eventually comes to an abrupt end at a place which most people in our community never see. Soccer to compete in large 25-4A district
Burnet’s soccer teams recently wrapped up pre-district play in the shortest amount of time in the program’s history due to a fully loaded District 25-4A. Nine other teams share the district with Burnet including Austin Achieve, Austin Eastside, Austin Johnson, Austin Northeast, Austin Travis, Georgetown Gateway, Jarrell, Lago Vista, and Florence. Both Burnet’s girls and boys opened district on Tuesday with the Lady Dawgs at home versus Travis while the boys traveled to Austin to face the Rebels. 01/15/2025 03:31 AM

Dawgs add two big district wins
It was a great week for the varsity Bulldog basketball team who earned two big district wins which greatly improved their standings. The Bulldogs opened play with a Tuesday night home victory over Salado and backed that up with a win over the Taylor Ducks on Friday on the road. 01/15/2025 03:31 AM

Varsity Lady Dawgs split week in district
The varsity Lady Dawg basketball team had a split week in district play dropping their Tuesday match to Salado before picking up a Friday win in Taylor. Following those two games the Lady Dawgs held a 2-1 record in the district and were sitting in a second place tie with Lampasas who was also 2-1.
