Seven Lady Dawgs earn All-State honors
Burnet’s Lady Dawg volleyball program was well represented on the recently released Academic All State list. In addition to being a student athlete, an individual receiving this honor must maintain a 92 average or better for all four years of high school. The Lady Dawgs had all seven of their 2025 seniors honored on the list. Camryn Courtney and Brooklynn Daniel both earned first team, while Addison Huffman and Laney Huffman each found a spot on the second team list.

Burnet County to counter TikTok threats
Reluctantly, the Burnet County Commissioners recently agreed to put aside funds to comply with state law related to the prevention of “ongoing and emerging technology” social media and other computer online threats. It may cost the county thousands of dollars to comply with Texas Senate Bill 1893, which calls for ensuring the prohibition or restriction of “certain social media and applications and service owned or leased by governmental entities.”

Fall golf ends with four medals
Burnet’s Lady Bulldog golf team competed in their final fall tournament and went out on a high note with some outstanding finishes. Burnet’s four girls combined to shoot a team 376 which earned them an overall first place finish at the tournament.

By Wayne Craig Bulletin Sports The BHS swim team hosted a meet last Thursday welcoming six teams to the pool at the YMCA. The Water Dawgs did extremely well, earning two team silver medals after some fantastic individual swims.
