With no significant rainfall and continued growth, the area’s reservoirs, at just over 51% capacity, have taken a hit in the last few months, officials say. This month, the combined storage of lakes Buchanan and Travis the storage reservoirs for the Highland Lakes — amounted to 1.016 million acre-feet, according to LCRA.

I think most U.S. citizens are aware that our federal government is bloated, but now that President Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency is exposing incomprehensible waste, fraud and abuse of taxpayers’ dollars, there is absolutely no doubt. Congress has dropped the ball. Our elected representatives seem to have forgotten one of their most important responsibilities – to keep a watchful eye on expenditures and guard against frivolous use of the federal taxes paid by their constituents.

Victories all around for Burnet soccer programs
The Burnet soccer teams started their second round of district play last week. On Friday the Bulldog teams hosted Austin Travis. In the JV Bulldogs first meeting they lost to Travis, 7-1. This time they got a little revenge beating the Austin squad, 1-0. Jose Garcia converted Burnet’s lone goal.
