Water district mandates reductions for permit holders
Until further notice, the Central Texas Groundwater Conservation District (CTGCD) board has decided to invoke a mandatory water reduction of 15% for all non-exempt permit holders. Unanimously, the board members approved the action after they reviewed several statistical trends reported by District General Manager Mitchell Sodek and Intera Technical Consultant Neil Deeds, indicating Burnet County has descended into Stage 4 extreme drought conditions.

Soccer making strides with scrimmages
The soccer teams have been busy over the past few days with numerous scrimmages to help fine tune their skills. Both the boys and girls scrimmaged Lampasas with those games having a dual impact. In addition to getting time on the field versus an opponent the games hosted a toy drive for the second year in a row. Burnet’s teams won the toy drives and on the boys side alone the Bulldogs collected over 200 toys and books to be donated.

Student athletes named Academic All-State
Academic All-State awards honoring student athletes in the 2024 Bulldog Football program were recently released and Burnet earned 11 spots on the list. This is a prestigious list that includes the names of hardworking student athletes that take care of business both on the field and in the classroom.
