A Hill Country area builder was found guilty May 22 in Llano of bilking several property owners out of hundreds of thousands of dollars over a period of time. Recently, one critical bill proposed to impose new regulations in Burnet County related to permits for facilities that produce or crush aggregate failed to pass parliamentary muster. During the ongoing-Texas Legislature 89th regular session, state representatives Terry Wilson (HD- 20), John Bryant (HD-114), Ellen Troxclair (HD-19) filed House Bill 5151 to regulate rock pits and quarries – specificially around two state parks and a children’s camp on Lake LBJ. 05/21/2025 04:04 AM

BCISD AD resigns ‘to get to coach again’
After one year as the Burnet Consolidated Independent School District athletic director and safety officer, Steve Hale resigned. He announced his resignation in early May, calling the reason why “the right opportunity that came up.” He is joining the Trinity Christian Academy in Willow Park as the football program’s defensive coordinator, the athletic department’s powerlifting coach and track coach. 05/21/2025 04:04 AM
